BOOK REVIEW: Sweet Obsession by J. Daniels

BLURB:

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, J. Daniels.

Author's Note: Sweet Obsession can be read as a standalone novel.

Everyone knows Brooke Wicks loves to have a good time. She’s not interested in getting serious, settling down, or limiting herself to one man. So when she meets the sexy, irresistible Mason King, she sees another opportunity to let loose and go wild. But the gorgeous Aussie isn’t interested in just a quick fling with Brooke, and if she wants to get into his bed, she’s going to have to do it on his terms.

Loving fast and hard has always been Mason’s philosophy. He doesn’t want a meaningless connection, he wants it all, and he wants it with Brooke. When she makes her one desire known—to hit it and quit it—Mason wages a plan to ensure Brooke keeps coming back for more. Or so he hopes.

Getting her attention was the easy part. Keeping it might be damn near impossible.

Sweet Obsession is where the Sweet Addiction series meets the Alabama Summer series.

MY REVIEW
5/5 STARS

OHMYFUCKINGGOOOOD. I love this story sooo much!!! J. Daniels started it with sheer awesomeness and carried the whole story with such mastery that I think I'm going to read it again— for the third time. The story flows so easily and it made me forget the time and the place and just stay into Mason and Brooke's world. And gaaahhhh. So much feels. Too much feels.

The little wolf or the docile sheep. I’ll take every layer of Brooke. Anything and everything.

Brooke is a character most would initially hate. Too liberated, too happy-go-lucky, too carefree. But as the story progresses, her character shows a lot more than the blithe facade she shows. She was a woman who knew what she wanted and knew how to get them. She knew who she was and she accepted every bit of it. Her confidence was soooo sexy!

That accent, paired with anything even remotely filthy is enough to put me in the record books as the first woman in history to ever have an orgasm without any touching.

Now Mason, this guy has a really dirty mouth (that I freaking love) but a really good heart. He’s my favourite kind of hero, a whole lot of sexiness grounded with respect. Nothing to dislike about this man...except his patience, but even that is freaking attractive.

I realize this is what it feels like to be someone’s only. To want to be that.

Sweet Obsession carried unique characters that every person would want to be friends with. The story was ultimately sexy, an answer to every female's whims and desires in a romance, but it also the unique touch of Miss J's relentless humor, remarkable and fun characters, and that soothing comfort and warmth that her story always exudes. It was fast-paced but every bit carried a clear and strong impact, might it be with a laugh, a groan, a tear, and even the honest heat between the characters. No part of the book was boring. Every bit was entertaining and important. God, will I sound like a total bitch if I say this might be her best, yet?
