MY REVIEW:

4 stars

This light and enjoyable read is perfect for a relaxing weekend. It’s filled with sweetness, and just the right amount of drama and fun. Samantha Chase’s characters will continually keep readers interested in this Montgomery heat!

He was too loyal.
He was too afraid to rock the boat.
He was totally screwed.

Ethan Reed has been hiding his secret love for his best friend Zach’s little sister for a long time. He never acted on it because to him, it was like breaking the bro code—and giving the Montgomery men a go signal to cut his head off. Ethan was a really fun and interesting character. He was charming, patient and very intelligent. But he was also a man who would do everything for the woman he loved...even if it meant risking his friendship.

She wanted someone who was hopelessly in love with her and brought out the type of passion you only read about in a good romance novel.

Summer Montgomery was tired of being taken lightly. Everyone around her seemed to think she was childish, carefree, and incapable of making a serious decision in her life. Sure, she didn’t have the best track record but all she ever wanted was for people (especially her family) to trust her and to believe in her. She wanted to be in a serious relationship too. But Ethan was temporary. And yet what she felt for him was rather permanent. Summer’s character was a delight. She was free-spirited and passionate but she was complicated. Ethan was a perfect counterpart.

Back then, it was a fleeting feeling— more of a whimsical wish. Now? He was drawn to her as a man, with all of the feelings that went with it.

I have no idea why but the moment Ethan mentioned his attraction towards Summer, I felt a connection. I already had a feeling that I will enjoy this pair and I did! The story was light but the romance and the events kept me entertained and curious. I really have fun when the Montgomery’s are together in a scene. It’s like a really enjoyable riot of personalities. I also loved Zach and Gabriella’s connection in this book! Miss Samantha has totally captured my curiosity on the next book. I have a feeling that Zach will be my favourite!
