For the past nine years, I’ve kept my heart as far away from my dick as possible.

Those two can’t be anywhere near each other. They don’t play nice, and one of them undoubtedly winds up getting hurt.

Not my dick. My dick is good.

The women I take home know exactly what they’re getting from me—sex. Nothing more. At least, that’s what’s supposed to happen. The sweet brunette from Kentucky I set my sights on tonight shouldn’t have been any different. I had her right where I wanted her. Where I needed her. But when my past comes walking into McGill’s pub, the woman in my arms decides to take things to a whole new level, putting me into a situation I never saw coming.

My heart is about to get fucked. My dick can sit this one out.

Warning: this book is recommended for readers over the age of 18 due to strong language and explicit sexual content. When I Fall can be read as a standalone novel.

Ever read a book that rendered you paralyzed and just plain staring at your ceiling, too many words invading your mind but all you could say was, “WOW”? Yup. This was what Reed did to me today. When I started the book, I was literally glued to it. I feel like when I stop reading, I stop breathing. J. Daniels’ fun and entertaining prose enflames every page and you can’t help but enjoy the burn!

There’s something about this man that has me leaning closer, pressing my weight against his, wanting his contact.

Reed Tennyson was the town’s playboy. He has kept his “fuck only” rule for nine years and has no plans on breaking it. When I started reading the book, I instantly loved Reed’s cocky, dirty, and flirty personality. His charm was so natural and effortless that I couldn’t help but love him. As if his dirty mouth and his heartless charms weren’t enough to make me fall, Reed Tennyson unleashed a depth of character that I cannot help but love...and worship.

I don’t know how she does it, but she manages to look this perfect blend of innocent and I’m-about-to-fuck-your-world-up.

Beth Davis (from McGill’s) just moved in town, happy to have escaped the nightmare she had been in. She craved stability, security, and a man who could love her for who she is. I absolutely loved Beth. The perfect mix of passion and innocence in her character made the story really appealing and relatable. She was sultry, smart, and sweet at the same time. We all have an inner Beth in us somewhere and J. Daniels encapsulated every womanly feeling in her that made Beth’s character endearing and relatable.

“I’m so in love with you I feel like I can’t breathe,”

The heat between Reed and Beth was over-the-top HOT HOT HOT! But even if they’ve enflamed every page with hot desire and passion, there was always a deep form of fondness between the two of them. I loved how Reed inspired Beth’s sultry side and how Beth stirred Reed’s sweetness. They were perfectly characterized for each other.

There wasn’t a part of this book that I didn’t love. Every bit of conversation and even the smallest details got to me and stole my heart. The story build-up was really good and every detail mattered. It was fast-paced but it didn’t feel like it. I didn’t feel any lacking parts and feelings from reading the book. All questions were closed within the story so when I reached the ended, I was in a deep state of a book hangover.

I FREEEAAAKING love that Luke and Ben were given some highlights in this story. I loved getting a glimpse on where they’re at and how involved they were in each other’s lives. I am addicted to J. Daniels’ characters. They’re the kinds that I want to be related to or to be friends

I ain’t got a favourite scene, love. Every bit of this book is a favourite! Five you and me stars from me!
