About Confessed: confessed-cover

A brand new dirty, sexy, funny standalone romance...

Lucy Burchett is the heiress to a notoriously disastrous family, and she's left home for good. But when she runs a big, black pickup off the road, totaling it, she finds herself stuck in the middle of nowhere with the driver. He's got a body to die for and a hair-trigger temper. Vince Russo looks like a felon, but he's also pretty funny. He’s on the lam from the cops… and a psychopathic, Russian mob boss who wants to put his balls on a barbeque. Literally.

After a night of ill-advised cocktails and bathroom-wrecking sex, Vince just can't get Lucy off his mind. But he's got plans to rob her. And Lucy’s life is about to get a little bit criminal too.

But can a bad boy and a good girl really escape from their troubles together? Can they trust each other at all?

In the steady march of disasters that follow them west, they fight and they laugh. They tease and they’re tender. They’re either oil and water, or chocolate and peanut butter.

Except, they can’t run from the real world forever. And there’s a hell of a surprise in store for both of them…

The bar is called the Last Resort. It looks like a shack outside and smells like Pine Sol inside. It’s surprisingly crowded for a place in the middle of nowhere. I’m almost sure there’s a table of Hells Angels to my right as I walk in. Or ZZ Top impersonators with borderline personality disorders. One of them is carving a pentagram into the table with a knife while the rest of them sit watching and grooming their chest-length beards.

I find myself gripping Vince’s hand, not out of fear but really just to say, Would you take a look at that!

“’Murica,” he growls. “Fucking ’Murica.”

“Home of the brave,” I whisper back. His palm is warm and solid against mine. It’s possible mine are slightly clammy. I feel like given the hotness factor, I’m doing pretty much awesome.

The only open spots are two seats at the bar. He pulls my stool out for me, takes my purse, and hangs it on the hook under the bar as I sit down. The back of his hand brushes against my skin while he studies my face. He isn’t smiling, but his eyes are.

Low and beasty, he says, “You’re running away. Admit it.”

I tuck my hair behind my ear and raise my eyes to his. Sideburns just past his ears, and I find myself staring at the place where his stubble leads into his hair. “Maybe.”

“We got that in common at least.” He spins a cardboard coaster and watches me. I feel heat come up into my cheeks, and his smile turns a little harder, a satisfied tightness.

“Something tells me you’re not running away from your dysfunctional family,” I say.

“Something tells you right.”

“So what are you running from then?” I ask. His thigh presses against my knee. I let my fingers slide up the seam of his jeans.

“Right now?” he says, running his hand up my neck. “Not a goddamned thing.”

Oh God.

COVER REVEAL: Heat Wave by Karina Halle

We are very excited to bring you the cover for the upcoming standalone novel HEAT WAVE  from NEW YORK TIME Bestselling Author Karina Halle.  HEAT WAVE is a new alluring forbidden romance you do not want to miss releasing on November 3rd.

  heat-wave-amazon         heat-wave-3d-book
They say when life closes one door, another one opens. This door happens to lead to paradise. And a man I can never, ever have.

Still grieving the loss of her sister who died two years ago, the last thing Veronica "Ronnie" Locke needed was to lose her job at one of Chicago’s finest restaurants and have to move back in with her parents. So when a window of opportunity opens for her – running a kitchen at a small Hawaiian hotel – she’d be crazy not to take it.

The only problem is, the man running the hotel drives her crazy: Logan Shephard.

It doesn’t matter that he’s got dark brown eyes, a tall, muscular build that’s sculpted from daily surfing sessions, and a deep Australian accent that makes your toes curl.
What does matter is that he’s a grump.
 Kind of an asshole, too.
And gets under Ronnie’s skin like no one else.

But the more time Ronnie spends on the island of Kauai, falling in love with the lush land and its carefree lifestyle, the closer she gets to Logan. And the closer she gets to Logan, the more she realizes she may have pegged him all wrong. Maybe it’s the hot, steamy jungles or the invigorating ocean air, but soon their relationship becomes utterly intoxicating.

There’s just one major catch.

The two of them together would incite a scandal neither Ronnie, nor her family, would ever recover from. Forbidden, Illicit, off-limits – sometimes the heat is worth surrendering to, even if you get burned.

BOOK REVIEW: Refrain by Kennedy Ryan

Title: Refrain
Author: Kennedy Ryan
Series: Soul Series #3

B L U R B

People dream of a love that runs deep. So deep it feels like it's always been with you, just waiting for the person who'll own your heart and soul forever. So few ever find it, but for Rhyson Gray and Kai Pearson, happily ever after was only the beginning...

One of the biggest rock stars in the world and one of the brightest rising stars make a life together. Sometimes it's glamour-filled days and blissed out nights, but it's mostly staying true in the too-bright glare of the spotlight. It's long stretches where the road is lonely and the work is hard. It's living in a love that's the safest place you know even while danger lurks at your door.

Book 3 of The Soul series is an emotionally-charged epic conclusion that had to be told and should not be missed for fans of this series and this couple!

M Y   R E V I E W
5/5 SOUL STARS!

Miss Kennedy always creates characters that readers would never tire of reading about. Rhys and Kai are definitely one of them. In Refrain, she brought me a whole new set of emotions that kept me rooting for more of Rhys and Kai!

But now and for the rest of my life Kai is the living, breathing address that is my home. She’s my entire damn zip code.

Kai was relishing every inch of claiming her dreams. All the sacrifices and hard work she invested on it was starting to pay off. But her dream of success mixing with the dreams of her heart might prove to be more challenging. There’s always this spirit in Kai’s character that radiates in her. But here, I was introduced to a bolder, sturdier Kai that I admired more. Here, she showed that she loved as much as she fought, that her passion for her talent was as fierce as her love for Rhys.

“You know it is, Pep. Every inch is yours.” I don’t just mean every inch of my cock. I mean every inch of my body. Every acre of my heart. Every ounce of my soul, poured out like an offering for her to do with as she pleases.

For Rhyson Gray, the challenges of being in the limelight were no longer new. But when that light sheds a bad shade on Kai, it’s a whole new fucking story. I’m just really, really addicted to how alpha-sweet Rhys can get. The way this man claims always hits me to the bones. Super fucking sexy yet sensually played. Like he had so much love for Kai and he had to show it whenever (and my, wherever ;)) he can.

I haven’t pierced her flesh, but I’m already inside of her in the way that truly counts; already occupying her soul.

This is completely unlike what I expected of a sequel and I couldn’t be happier that my expectations weren’t met. I prepared to swoon over the bliss of Rhys and Kai settling their relationship from Down to My Soul. You know, babies, weddings, and straight-out married bliss. But my, was I wrong. Refrain is emotionally charged, continuously stimulating, and a sensually hot read! In terms of depth and intensity, it’s like a whole new book. There were new emotions here and also exclusive Rhys x Kai feels that were intensified by unpredictable scenes. This book made by Soul Series obsessed heart overflow with scenes which I both anticipated and completely didn’t expect.

BOOK REVIEW: The Debt by Karina Halle

Title: The Debt
Author: Karina Halle
Genre: Contemporary Romance

B L U R B

Her life changed in an instant.
And he's the only one who could have prevented it.

From the New York Times bestselling author of The Pact and The Lie comes a new standalone contemporary romance about those McGregor men.

Jessica Charles shouldn't have even been in London when the unthinkable happened.
She should have been back at home in Edinburgh, perhaps hanging with her boyfriend, having drinks with her sister or doing yoga with her group of friends. She should have been going on in her normal, dependable life as always.
But on that fateful day in August, when a mentally-ill ex-soldier opened fire in public, Jessica's world changed forever.
Now single and crippled from the gunshot wounds, Jessica finds herself scared and alone, losing faith in herself and humanity with each agonizing moment that passes.
That is until a stranger enters her life. A stranger who makes her live again.
Keir McGregor has always been the strong, silent type. Throw in tall, dark, and handsome and you've got pretty much the perfect Scotsman.
Except Keir is anything but perfect. He's got a past he's running away from and a guilty conscience he can't seem to shed. But the more time he spends with Jessica, the more he falls in love with her.
And the more his secret threatens to tear them apart.
He may have been a stranger to her.
But she’s never been a stranger to him.

M Y   R E V I E W
5/5 STARS!

We’re just two broken people picking up each other’s pieces. I’m falling to pieces. Over him. Over this.

Karina Halle is the one author who’s already unleashed every possible emotion I can have. She broke, wrecked, tore me apart with her words and fixed me up with them, too. Her attack on a book is always intense but in The Debt, a mellower, soul-stirring Karina Halle surprised me.

He’s a big man with a big past and a big heart and I belong only with him.
Keir McGregor knew about how effective self-made monsters were. Barely surviving his own guilt and tragic experiences, he opted to slay a bigger dragon than his own past. In my opinion, Keir is the most sincere, sweetest Halle hero. He was rough around the edges and might even melt you in the sheets but the genuineness and valor of this man always resounds.

"You’ve broke my trust, you’ve broken me. And I was already so broken.”

Jessica Charles lived her own nightmares all at once. A woman scarred with loss, she struggles to heal her wounds and start living again. Jessica is such a beautiful contradiction. Life might have attempted to strip her off of her confidence but this woman’s tough grip on herself was so admirable. She was sweet and brazen, broken and brave, timid and wild.

"I love every broken part of you and how well it fits with every broken part of me.”
This story was constantly mesmerizing. Karina Halle’s intense prose brought a certain depth in this book that stole a part of me. Emotional, heartbreaking, and yet utterly therapeutic at the same time. The characters’ spark was sensually enthralling, seeping at every scene, feeding my anticipation as I read on. Yet again, Miss Karina steals me with her poignant words. Her capability of ridding the barrier between the reader and the book makes the experience more memorable. The wonderful way she transcends love, loss, and travel in one page-turning book never fails to amaze me. The Debt, is no doubt, Karina Halle’s strong points weaved into a one hot, steamy, emotional love story in Scotland.

BOOK REVIEW: Blood to Dust by L.J. Shen

Title: Blood to Dust
Author: LJ Shen

B L U R B

His name is Beat, and I should hate him.

Bound, blindfolded and bruised, I'm tied in his basement, waiting for the men who stripped me from clothes and humanity to collect his debt to them. Me.

His name is Nate and I should hate him, but I don't.

I'm not supposed to know his real name, even worse, I'm not supposed to care. He is nothing to me but means to an end. The plan is simple: break free, collect the pieces of my broken soul, kill the bastards and run away.

His name is Nathaniel Thomas Vela, and I've never seen his face, though I hear that it's beautiful.

Behind the rugged and handsome exterior, there's a quiet murderer, a killer who thinks guns are for pussies and ends people with his bare hands.

His name doesn't matter, neither does his face, but what does matter is my heart. And right now, sadly, it's his.

Blood to Dust is a standalone, full-length novel. It contains graphic violence and adult situations some may find offensive.

M Y   R E V I E W
5/5 STARS

“Dance with your demons, love carelessly. Selflessly. And most importantly, love yourself, even at your worst.”

This book was angst personified! My, if it’s possible to have a heart-attack while reading a book, this one could totally put a number on me. My first LJ Shen book and it sure as hell won’t be my last.

“Lift your head up, Baby-Cakes. Don’t let your crown fall."

From the upper realms of society, Prescott Burlington-Smyth was viewed as an ambitious fragile princess sitting on her family’s throne. But the strength and persistence of this woman was beyond imaginable. Her ability to reign in her emotions and compartmentalize her experiences was one that is not typically scene in a captive heroine. Prescott was a break from the preppy damsels-in-distress. She was intelligent, fearless, sassy, and an absolute badass.

“I’ll be whatever you want me to be. Wild, gentle, good, bad, rough, delicate. Your pick.”

If Nate Vela was taken into face value, he was a dream. But he definitely knew what it was like to live a nightmare. Coming from the wrong side of town, Nate was no longer new to violence, manipulation, and abuse by the powerful rich people of the society. His character was so overwhelming, so utterly complex but I couldn’t help but fall for him. He was trapped in the deadly food chain and he needed to hide that scorching heart he had underneath his muscles to stay on the right track.

“Us,” I rasp. “We’re beautiful and ugly and broken. . .and whole.”

First, their love story is so fucking inconvenient. But I guess, that was what drove this book into an intense height. Two people on the polar opposite of the society finds a common goal powered by love, lust, and vengeance. That alone marvelously stirred this story. But minced with the intense, powerful, and gritty spark between Prescott and Nate, every reader is on for a whirlwind of emotions. Blood to Dust has definitely brought a whole new level of angsty feels for me. Dark, gritty, sexy, and twistedly good!
