A MILLION stories in Hollywood

A MILLION stories in Hollywood
I am not hurt.
I don’t need a second chance with him, or a life I thought I had.
While he was out forgetting me to become a movie star, I was building a career out of nothing. A career as a paparazzi, but a career. For a foster kid who bounced around every home in Los Angeles, that wasn’t easy.
This camera is all I have.
He’s nothing to me. Every time I take his picture and sell it, I remind myself that I did it all without him or his approval, his cinnamon smell or his clear green eyes. He lights up the screen like a celestial body, but he’s nothing but a paycheck to me.
He can throw my camera off a balcony, and nothing has to change. We can stay king and queen of the same city, and different worlds.
Except this is Hollywood, and here, anything can happen.

*I received an e-ARC from The Rock Stars of Romance in exchange for an honest review*
This is my first C.D. Reiss book! And my, do I regret not reading her sooner!
From the moment I read the first line of this book, I didn’t stop until I reached The End. It was so gripping, entertaining, and emotional all at the same time. It will fuck with your feelings and you will love every bit of it! C.D. Reiss has a hypnotizing prose made more riveting by characters that will forever be in my head.
She was a vortex. I’d avoided getting swallowed up in her once, and now, more than ever, I needed to avoid it again.
Laine Cartwright found her purpose in being a paparazzo. It didn’t require much emotions or any form of intimate relationships. It was a blunt and well-paying job, just the way she liked it. Laine is probably one of my favourite heroines ever! Her character drove through me fast and snatched a piece of my heart with her story. She was a dangerous combination of strength and passion.
He might have been an actor, but I was a pretender and good at it. I was going to protect him from me, even if it meant giving up any hope of feeling his touch again.
Michael Greydon was America’s Boyfriend, one of the most sough-after actors of Hollywood. Being in a family of celebrities, Michael was used to the limelight but he does his best to avoid being the center of attraction. I loved this good boy streak in Michael’s bad-boy-prone life. Even with the most danger-prone incidents, he remains calm and logical. Well, not until Laine finally removed her camera from her face and approached him...
“We have a relationship. He runs away, and I chase him.”
I seriously cannot get over this book! It’s so perfect; the writing prose, the plot, the characters, everything! It didn’t even allow me a single second to think of anything else except being in the story and experiencing the roller-coaster of emotions and events it possessed. The chemistry between Michael and Laine was hot and passionate but it’s also sweet and genuine. The story had a magnificent mix of romance, heat, angst, emotion, and depth that made ever bit of it spell-binding and impossible to put down. C.D. Reiss perfected the art of drawing a reader in a book and keeping them there.
