BOOK REVIEW: Beneath the Vine by Lillian Bryant

BLURB

Selene Cavalier spent the majority of her time behind her cello. Her dull life was made up of dark notes, hard work and sheet music.

Bennett Monterosso did what he had to do to get his family’s winery up and running. He didn’t have time for his old ways. His quiet dominance had been silenced. His need was just waiting below the surface, until now.

Having her—it was all he could think about as he watched the young woman behind the cello.

Gage Calibri left his best friend, his home, and his tarnished past five years ago. He suppressed his darker tastes, his physical appetites, and his secrets until he no longer had a choice.

It only took one night for these three lives to collide and to be altered forever.

This wasn’t what they were expecting. This wasn’t who she was. Each moment they sank deeper, each minute they felt more, each second they took her further.

Unhinged… restrained… this obsession… this love… it was all consuming.

MY REVIEW
5/5 stars

Lust is a liar… and love takes victims.

I have to be honest; menage isn’t the genre I’ve ever thought of reading. The idea of sharing the heroine doesn’t sit well with me. But this book, damn, this book. It created an impact so strong that I found myself submerged into the dark world Bennett, Selene, and Gage; addicted to every word.

“Your touch, it’s the only thing that grounds me.”

The intensity of the three main characters brought this book to a whole new level. Bennett and Gage were both alpha males who owned, but only differ on the depths possessed. One of them was the brooding, dominant kind. The kind of man who fought with all he had to claim what he believed was his. The other loved so ferociously that he was willing to let go of the woman he loved the most if it meant her happiness and safety. Together, there two men were owning and conquering parts of Gio. Feelings that could rip her apart.

"...loving you, it was the only way I knew how to breathe, and I’m choking, I’m fucking choking, Gio.”

This book was intensely written. The dark, erotic tone was highly stimulating. There was depth in every word and a hanging heat on every scene. It was a whirlwind of emotions and with Lillian Bryant’s poignant voice, I couldn’t help but be carried away.

Beneath the Vine is a story of a woman losing two parts of herself to two men who wanted all of her. An absolutely blood-stirring read.
